You are ready to get started with Invisalign

You may already be familiar with Invisalign, but there are a few more steps before you are on your way to a confident smile.  We believe that the best treatment decisions are made when you are educated about the process thus it is important for us to know that you have had all of your questions answered and are confident in making your decision to proceed.

  1. Schedule a Consultation - Contact our office in West Lafayette, Indiana to schedule your complimentary Invisalign Consultation.  At your consultation, we want to learn about your concerns and expectations for your new smile. We will then perform an examination, keeping your expectations in mind, to determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign.  We’ll ask a series of assessment questions to help us identify your goals and let you see an actual set of Invisalign aligners and sample cases. The consultation is also a good time for you to ask questions on costs, payment options, insurance, or any other concerns.
  2. Create Your Custom Treatment Plan – Once it has been determined that you are a good candidate and you have made the decision to proceed, it is time to create your very own custom treatment plan.  To do this we will take photographs of your teeth, an X-ray that shows us all of your teeth, and impressions for three-dimensional imaging.  We will then map out your treatment plan using this information by creating a virtual representation of where your teeth are currently and how they progress every two weeks until treatment is complete.  We invite you to return and view this animation so that you can see the estimated final position of your smile.
  3. Receive Your Custom Invisalign Aligners – Your trays will arrive 7-10 business days after they’re ordered. These plastic aligners are free of BPA to reduce tongue, cheek, and gum irritations. Clear attachments may be placed on select teeth to help hold the aligners firmly in place and assist with tooth movements during your first few appointments.
  4. Change Aligners Every Two Weeks – The Invisalign aligners will be changed every two weeks. Each aligner will be slightly different and will slowly move your teeth with each new aligner. We typically provide you with 3-4 sets of aligners at each appointment, which means you only need to visit our dental office in West Lafayette, Indiana every 6-8 weeks. For the best results, we recommend wearing your aligners all the time, only removing them to eat.
  5. Maintaining Your Smile – You now have a confident smile!  Once your treatment is finished you’ll need to maintain the position using retainers at night.  Invisalign's Vivera retainers look just like the clear aligners worn during treatment but are slightly thicker. As part of your treatment, we provide you with three sets of retainers for both the top and bottom teeth.  A fourth set is available for free when you like our Facebook page and post a photograph of your completed treatment on your Facebook wall and tag our office.
